i open my phone break it apart.
the next day, when the clothes are soaked from hugging each other
and crying i bag them up and throw them out. i cut
my hair slowly and watch how i change. if i were real
i would be naked and hairless, but i'm not and my room is colorless
and bare and i am colorless and bare and not real

then off, i shed my house like a sunburn
each of four walls coming undone and
flaking away crackling. i leave everything
around and within me behind in a pile
still four nights away from garbage day.
i lay down on the side of the road

a breath
